Cape Cod Vacation Rentals and Resort has a come up with a few considerations in reaching an answer to the question ...Is vacation ownership a good alternative... In fact, most current owners believe that..."The only people not involved in vacation ownership, either are totally destitute, very very rich, don't like to vacation or simply don't understand how vacation ownership works." Let's start by saying there are definitely some things to consider, like the wheres, the hows the whats and the ises;
- Where is the resort?
- How often do you vacation?
- What are you currently spending on accommodations?
- How much longer do you plan on vacationing?
- How important are nice accommodations and what do amenities mean to you and your family?
- Is the area you're considering, in high demand to other vacationers.
- Is it worth the time to learn how you can save thousands of your hard earned dollars to vacation less?
- How serious are you in saving yor time and your money on vacations?
First and Foremost...
Give yourself an opportunity to make your own decision!
Many vacationers are not aware of the many benefits attached to vacation ownership. Most feel that all they’re doing is buying vacation time, which is a large part of the pie, but not the whole pie. Some believe in the mis-conceptions that if you agree to look into vacation ownership you will be high pressured into buying. They listen to folks that do not own and who are mis-informed of vacation ownership's true rewards. They listen to people that have never taken a tour and whose fullest extent of information is nothing more than hear-say from other people that are also ill-informed from folks, who may have remembered a bad experienc years ago. They don't even realize that over 4 million American households alone are reaping in the benefits of vacation ownership. So, the end result is that these people have sterotyped the entire industry and pre-judged every resort that offers vacation ownership opportunities. And, this is very unfortunate, for these folks will never know what the industry is all about and how they could truely benefit from the many advantages and doors of opportunity that are open to them through vacation ownership.
Have An Open Mind
They usually have closed minds and negative attitudes prior to giving themselves the opportunity to learn more on this intriguing way of vacation living. And, in turn, they will never allow themselves the chance to see if vacation ownership is something that might benefit them in the long haul.Just like anything else it's always good to have an open mind and make listen to the facts and then make your own decision
Do you always go by what some critics say?
Take this into consideration! How many times have you gone to a movie before you heard a critic’s opinion? You thought the movie was great, only to find out that after you saw the movie a movie critic thought it was terrible? Then you find out that there are other people that thought like you and still others that thought like the critic. Then there are others, who simply won’t go to that movie because of the critic’s opinion. The point here being, is that everyone has different tastes. What some people like others hate, what some people hate others like. You’ll never know if you don’t see for yourself.
This holds true for most things in this world and vacation ownership is no different. You'll never know if this is something that can benefit you or your entire family unless you get the right information. You’ll never know the true extent of what you’re missing or how much you might be possibly over-spending.
Most intelligent people will not purchase a major product like a car, home or boat without investigating the product first They need to see for themselves what the product entails. Then and only then can they weigh out all the pertinent information and decide if this is a choice they should pursue, or at least consider. Like the cars and boats of this world, vacations, believe it or not, can become major expenses. The costs involved with vacations are constantly on the rise and can possibly cause one to spend a small fortune, to enjoy one or two weeks of a good time.
Second
The Three Questions
If the first point made sense to you then the next questions are "When, where and hows?"
- When should I learn more? Probably the next time you go on vacation. Maybe when you have the opportunity to take a weekend getaway in a resort location or you're offered a mini-vacation getaway at a resort. In the meantime visit some web sites.
- Where? Go to somewhere where it's convenient for you. Possibly in your home town, if you live in a resort city or not that far away from one. Just as long as the resort is in high demand. A place where vacation ownership opportunities are rare. This is where you'll get the most from your dollar and your ability to trade anywhere in the world will be high. The old supply and demand principle. Orlando would not be a good choice. Because there are so many resorts there, most places have a very low exchange rate. You can learn more about this subject on the benefits page.
- How do I do it? When you go to a vacation ownership resort ask for a tour. If you're staying in a resort spot ask around for vacation ownership properties. In some instances you might run into an off premise contact that will invite you to take a look
Maybe your rich?
If you're one of those select few that could care less on what they spend then this page is probably not for you. On the other hand, if you want to learn more about vacationing for less you may want to read on and visit the "Benefits to own" page on this web site The 12 Top Benefits
What Exactly is Vacation Ownership?
The Definition of Vacation Ownership
Vacation ownership is purchasing vacation time and the rights to accommodations in a resort or a condo. Intervals are usually one week periods and can be exchanged, rented, sold or used by the owner. The property purchased can be either deeded or non-deeded.
Is Vacation Ownership Popular?
Since its' inception in Europe back in the middle 60's, vacation ownership has risen to some pretty remarkable heights. Currently there are over 5,400 vacation ownership resorts in the world 1,600 of which are in the United States.Vacation ownership properties serve close to 4 million households and grew 21.4% in 2004.
How can I tell if a resort is reputable?
One indication is to check to see if the resorts are members of vacation ownership exchange companies (explained below) and what some of the feedback has been from past owners.
Still another indication for you to tell if a resort is reputable or not is to check out the amount of local businesses that are working in conjunction with the resort. Businesses are not going to allow themselves to be put on a resort's gift certificate if they feel it will put their own reputation on the line. Local businesses usually prefer resorts that take the low key approach to presenting vacation ownership to tourists.
All kinds of Getaways
So, if you are like most people, and value your vacations, whether it's skiing at a world-renowned mountain, basking in the warmth of the sun at a secluded island oasis or simply relaxing and taking in the sights at some exotic hot spot and you enjoy saving money in the process, then you'll want to know more about how vacation ownership can work for you.
FACT! Hotel Rental Rates Are On The Rise!
Would you rather spend $200-$500 a day for accommodations or $200-$500 a week for lodging in a popular resort?
Each year millions of households, hard working folks like you and me, take advantage of vacationing for less. They're not necessarily wealthy or had a better education, they simply were tired of the rising costs to vacation and they finally decided to take the next step and investigate their options.
In a recent Cape Cod Times business article dated November 6th, 2005 the headlines read "Travel Costs Rising". Hotel prices in the United States are expected to rise 9% next year, with domestic airfares predicted to go up by 6%, according to a report released earlier this month by the National Business Travel Association. And let's not forget about GAS prices! The cost of gas directly affects the cost of just about everything including airfares so that means more and more vacationers will stick closer to home.
Now again ask yourself these questions!
- How much did you spend this year on hotel rentals?
- Since you've been vacationing how much do you think you've spent on hotel rentals?
- How much more will hotel costs rise and are you willing to spend more for less?
Want to know how much it will cost you over the next 15, 20, 30, 40 or more years of vacationing, then you'll want to check out this page on the site. You just might be shocked! The Vacation Calculator Developed by an MBA/CPA Duke Alumni, for vacationers, this calculator gives you a personal and unbiased look at future vactioning costs and how it might affect your vacationing plans.
Strick Regulations!
Today, the vacation ownership industry is closely monitored and very regulated. The American Resort Development Association (ARDA), now requires very high and ethical standards of professionalism. And all the reputable resorts are members.
Hence, the vacation ownership image has grown in popularity and respectability. The slick swamp land sales representatives of the late 70's and early 80's are long gone.
However, like anything else we purchase (i.e. houses, boats, electronics and autos etc..), there are always some unhappy campers. But, according to ARDA, 85% of the people, who have vacation ownerships are very happy with their purchases, and 50% of those owners want to purchase additional weeks.
This should give you a little piece of mind when you are considering at least looking into Vacation ownership as a good alternative to renting.
FACT! Major Hotel Chains Join In
In addition to ARDA, such well respected hotel chains like the Hilton, Marriott, Disney and Fairfield belong to Resort Condominiums International (RCI) and Interval International (II) the largest vacation ownership exchange businesses in the industry. This faction has over 5,400 members throughout the world. Their membership in the exchange business strongly adds to the credibility of vacation ownership.
Purchase near where you live
The nice thing, is that you don't have to purchase one of their properties to vacation at one of their exotic resorts. For example to own in Aruba could cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars. But if you own somewhere else there's a good chance you can vacation in that same spot for hundreds rather than thousands. Rest assured these major hotel chains would have nothing to do with vacation ownership if they thought the industry was other than on the level. They believe that vacation ownership is a good alternative for vacationers. They know the benefits that are attached to vacation ownership The 12 Top Benefits

High Pressure Tatics Are aThing of The Past.
Let's talk about the Cape because this is where you're planning to vacation. Fortunately on the Cape your chances of experiencing a bad encounter are just about non-existent. Most owners realize that The Cape is a New England destination hot spot and vacationers return yearly. And nowadays some folks prefer to travel close to home. In addition most of the resorts on the Cape rent out their units daily, so they wouldn't do anything to jeopardize loosing future business. And that's a good thing. So depending on your interest a 60 minute tour is a 60 minute tour. Simply put, you're either going to think it's a good idea or you're not.
...Again, I'd like to thank everyone involved. At the time of my purchase, every phase was a pleasure - our two-night stay, the no-pressure presentation and the great free dinner. Even if someone is not sure this is for them it's worth taking the time to view the possibilities. Again, thank you all, and keep up the good work... Veronica L. Enfield Ct. Feb 15, 2006
What Can I Expect, If I Take a Tour?
Basically this is what you can expect when you take a tour of one of our Cape Cod Resort:
- First - You are asked to fill out a brief questionnaire on your vacation habits.
- Second - A host will greet you and take you on a short tour of the resort, showing you the accommodations and explaining the resorts amenities.
- Finally - You will be shown along with other similar couples, like yourself, how vacation ownership works. Here, all your questions will be answered.
This all takes between 45 and 60 minutes. It's as simple as that!
Own or Rent?
Consider this if you will: You own or want to own a home. You own or want to own your own car, boat, furniture and appliances etc. Anyway, you get the picture. Vacation ownership is no different. It's usually always better to own rather than rent. Check out the benefits of vacation ownership and how it compares to renting.
An Important Note!
Smart owners considers vacation ownership nothing more than an investment in future vacations with today's dollar. They do not look at it in terms of an investment for financial profit.
So if your main goal is to vacation for less for the rest of your life, stay in plush clean resorts, have all the amenities you can ask for and see more of what the world has to offer, then vacation ownership just may be a good alternative for you.
