Amateur BaseballOne of the most relaxing activities on Cape Cod is baseball, the ideal relaxing spectator sport. And here on the Cape, baseball is played exactly how it was meant to be played. The best college baseball players, play here every summer. There's no aluminum bats or artificial turf, but there's plenty of action and profession scouts are everywhere. This Amateur Baseball League is the most sought after baseball league in the country. Since its' inception in 1885, The Cape Cod Amateur Baseball League has produced more than its' share of professional baseball players. Last year alone saw close to 200 former Cape Cod Baseball players on major league rosters. The League is composed of ten teams and two divisions. Although there is no admission to see the games the League accepts donations from those who attend. In the surrounding Dennis area you will be able to enjoy the ambiance of several different stadiums such as: Harwich home of the Harwich Mariners, Orleans (voted the best amateur baseball stadium in the country)and home to the Orleans Cardinals, Chatham, home of the Anglers, Yarmouth-Dennis home of the Y-D Red Sox, Hyannis and their Mets and Brewster home to the Whitecaps. These teams make up 60% of the League and all the stadiums are with-in 15 miles from Dennisport. So if you're a baseball fan, you'll have a fantastic opportunity to see all these great baseball prospects. If you're going to be here in the spring or fall you can also check out some amateur baseball with the baseball Clubs of Cape Cod's 18 plus and 35 plus divisions. The competition is always fierce and enjoyable. You'll be amazed at the skill levels of our adult baseball groups. Most of the players are former college and minor league ball players. Horseback Riding... Bike Riding... and Hiking
When we talk about activities on Cape Cod we need to include horseback riding. Imagine riding through an assortment of wooded trails that will fill your mind with wonderment. And, the best place to go horseback riding on the Cape is along the 26 mile stretch of the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which starts in Dennis on Route 134. Riding paths run along side the paved bike and walkers trail. So put away the bikes and put a little adventure in your life!
Here you'll get to experience all the breathtaking beauty the Cape has to offer. Venture past the cranberry bogs, the hamlets and get as close as to the ocean as you legally can on horseback. There are several stables that rent out horses by the hour or half day. Tours and lessons for beginners are also available.

Biking and Hiking
Biking and hiking are both really fun activities on Cape Cod. You'll want to explore the 26 mile stretch of the Cape Cod Rail Trail which is a cyclist's dream and remains the longest bike trail on the Cape. It begins on Rte 134, in Dennis. The newly paved picturesque path shoots up inland cranberry bogs, pine groves, passes through a variety of small Cape Cod communities, saltbox homes, fresh water ponds, crosses over rivers, darts along the dunes of the coast and winds up in the town of Wellfleet. Along the way you can take a picnic break at Nickerson State Park in Brewster. It makes for a full afternoon of family fun, exercise, not to mention the breathtaking photographs you'll be able to take along the way which makes this a perfect activity on Cape Cod.
